erie pest control

For most our Tree and Shrub Care customers, we provide a four or five step program that combines Fertilization, Dormant oil sprays with Insect and Disease controls. The application techniques vary based on the time of year, size and scope of the species of plant or tree and the targeted pest. They may include Deep Root injections, ArboJet trunk injections or foliar sprays. We begin in the spring and thereafter scheduled treatments are applied when periodic outbreaks of insects or diseases are expected to occur. Below is our program outline and treatment schedule. Some treatment dates may vary somewhat as prolonged periods of above or below normal temperatures may accelerate or delay treatment schedules. Not all services listed below for each round are necessarily performed with each Program. Your Program will be tailored for your properties specific needs.

Round one: March- April

  • Horticultural oil spray for overwintering Spider mites and several species of scale.
  •  Deep root fertilizer injection of trees and shrubs to promote better foliar color and overall plant health.

Round two: April- May

  • Insect and disease spray applied to any vulnerable plants that would be subject to damage at that time of year. Targeted pests would include Aphids, scale, spring caterpillars, Apple scab disease and many others.
  •  ArborJet trunk injection for larger trees replaces the need to spray thereby eliminating all off-site drift of materials into the environment. This State of the art, effective technique provides long lasting control of such insect as Emerald ash borer, Hemlock woolly adelgid , Gypsy moth ,Eastern tent caterpillar and diseases such as Leaf spot and Anthracnose.

Round three: June- July

  • Insect and disease spray applied to any vulnerable plants that would be subject to damage at that time of the year. Targeted pests would include Japanese beetles, Spider mites, Scale, weevils and many foliar diseases.
  •  ArborJet trunk injection as described above.

Round four: July- August

  • Insect and disease spray applied to any vulnerable plants that would be subject to damage at that time of the year. Targeted pests would include Japanese beetles, spider mites, scale, weevils and many foliar diseases.
  •  ArborJet trunk injection as described above..

Round five: September- October

  • Deep root fertilizer injection of trees and shrubs to promote root development and food storage therein. This in turn improves spring color and overall vigor.
